Queenslanders with Disability Network

QDN is a statewide network of people with disability:

QDN is for people with disability, with people with disability, by people with disability, for citizenship and social justice.

QDN is funded by the Queensland Government (Disability Services Queensland). It is our vision to connect people with disability to build a voice of Queenslanders with disability to represent our views on issues that affect us.

Recently the Gold Coast Network of QDN held a forum in which they discussed pertinent issues affecting the lives of people with disabilities living on the Gold Coast. There were many issues that were of concern but the majority of people who participated in the discussuions agreed that Transport and Access(buildings, ramps, parking etc), were the things that caused most concern.

The results of the forum were that a small group of members would gather at a particular location that is of concern to look at how access to a local building can be improved.

The Gold Coast Network meets on a monthly basis at various Gold Coast venues to further discuss positive action plans to make changes that will benefit all those living with disability.
